Narrative
Named after Osun, the Yoruba deity of fresh water, beauty, feminine strength, and spiritual renewal, this portrait unfolds in two intertwined worlds. One half blooms with lush botanical colour — flowers, warmth, and living texture — while the other transforms into a monochrome peacock, rendered through meticulous linework and stippling. The peacock, sacred to Osun, embodies her vanity, beauty, and royal nature, appearing here as both messenger and mirror.
The surreal split between vibrant realism and patterned abstraction suggests identity in motion, a self that is rooted yet continually becoming. Every stroke — from the fluid watercolour washes to the precise pen drawn feathers — speaks to careful craftsmanship and symbolic depth.
OSUN becomes a meditation on renewal, duality, and the divine elegance of transformation.
