Narrative

The jubilation you hear above the occasional gunfire is deafening; as Mamponghene, Nana Osei Bonsu II, elders, subchiefs, statesmen and entourage of happy townfolk surveys his lands; riding on the shoulders of 6 palanquin bearers during Akwasidae.

He does this tour every 42 days to show he is in charge and the empire is not at war. After all, the Asante are together because of war. Nana lifts his right hand occasionally to wave at his subjects lining the streets and porches of buildings; waiting to catch a glimpse of their king.
