Narrative
Inspired by the line-up for Asantehene, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II at the burial of Mamponghene, Nana Osei Bonsu II, I juxtaposed the majestic Asafo in their warrior costumes, against the futuristic backdrop of a looming space craft.
While we do not expect Asante space travel with our current state of technology, Akofena,the Adinkra sword of authority and epithet on the spacecraft, carries the weight of this dream. The painting suggests the speculative possibility of far-reaching dreams - banked on our wealth in gold, and the vision of our leaders. Who could propel such a dream?
